Common types of LED energy-saving lamps

Type 1: LED energy-saving lamps made of straw hat type low-power LEDs, with a power supply using a resistive capacitive voltage reduction circuit. The straw hat type LED adopts the packaging form of indicator LED, which is encapsulated with epoxy resin, making it difficult for the LED chip to dissipate heat and causing severe light decay. Many white LEDs, after a period of use, have a higher color temperature, gradually turning blue and becoming dim. Some manufacturers are also committed to developing low light attenuation straw hat type LEDs, but due to the unchanged packaging form, the light attenuation has not been greatly improved. This type of LED energy-saving lamp product is a transitional product with low price and poor quality.

The second type (5050 patch): LED energy-saving lamps made of 3528 or 5050 patch medium power LEDs. The power supply generally uses resistance capacitance voltage reduction circuits, and some manufacturers also use constant current circuits. Compared with straw hat type LEDs, patch LEDs have slightly better heat dissipation and a thermal conductive substrate. When combined with an aluminum substrate, they can dissipate some of the heat. However, due to the neglect of LED heat, many medium power surface mount LED energy-saving lamps still use plastic shells without heat sinks, resulting in severe light decay. Adopting a resistor capacitor step-down low-end power supply, due to unstable grid voltage, fluctuations in current and brightness, the price is moderate.

The third type: LED energy-saving lamps made of high-power surface mounted LEDs. The power supply generally adopts a constant current isolation circuit, which means there is a constant current, such as 5W LED. Usually, 5 1-watt LED chips are used in series, and a constant current source of 300mA is used for power supply. The wide voltage power supply ensures that the current does not change when the power grid fluctuates, and the luminous flux and brightness remain constant. The 5 surface mounted LEDs are welded on an aluminum substrate, which is then combined with a heat sink. The heat can be dissipated in a timely and rapid manner, ensuring that the temperature of the LED chip is lower than the allowable junction temperature of the LED, thus ensuring the true effective life of the LED energy-saving lamp. This type of LED light has high prices and good quality, and is also the development direction of LED energy-saving lamps.

LED energy-saving lamps have the advantages of small size, high light efficiency, long lifespan, low power consumption, and easy use, and have been favored by a large number of consumers. So far, LED energy-saving lamps have entered thousands of households, but the LED lighting market is not yet very mature at this stage, and the standards of various manufacturers are different. The national standards for LED lighting fixtures have not yet been introduced, which also restricts the healthy development of the LED power lighting market.
